Birria Lamb Chops
This quick and easy lamb chop recipe highlights the bold flavors of Western Mexico with its star ingredient – La Popular Maka Tlan’s all-purpose Birria sauce. Known as a traditional product to marinate meat or vegetables, the Birria sauce is made fresh from dried chile peppers, fresh vegetables, and various herbs and spices. Use the sauce to marinate the lamb chops and bake for 40 minutes, turning them to the other side halfway through. Top the chops with parsley and lime, and serve with rice or your choice of side.
Ingredients
- Freshly cleaned lamb chops
- 1 or 2 lime slices (optional)
- Salt
- Parsley (optional)
- La Popular Maka Tlan Birria Sauce
Directions
- Clean lamb chops thoroughly through your preferred meat cleaning method
- Line lamb chops side by side in a casserole dish
- Pour a generous amount of the La Popular Maka Tlan Birria sauce to the lamb chops directly from the jar or with a cooking spoon
- Spoon sprinkle a bit of salt all over the lamp chops, then cover with foil and bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. When the 20 minutes are up, turn chops over and cook for an additional 20 minutes
- Transfer lamb chops to a plate or blate. Optional: top with parsley and add lime slices. Caution: lamb chops will be hot!
